I think I´m home alone right now, but I´m really not all that sure. So no crazy party throwing for me right now.
You know it´s kind of funny, when I go to blogger.com in spain it is definately all in spanish. Which is kind of cool, but at the same time, I prefer the comfort of my vernacular. I also really like the word vernacular... definately word of the day, if you will.
Today Kathleen and I spent most of our time in our class analyzing the various properties and stages of a mullet. You´d be surprised, not only of course to realize that the mullet is very popular here in spain, but also that so much variety can come with a hairstyle so very... backwater. A lot of guys are also sporting the faux-hawk, which is cool, because there was this one kid in our class today who was like identical to Mo rocca, who is of course a comic genius in the I Love the... series. Actually, it´s crazy, I keep seeing people that remind me of people I know. Marta? she reminds me perfectly of my one and only soul sistah, Elise. Then there was a girl I saw who reminded me of Lolo, Colleen´s cousin. And Carmina´s aunt reminds me of Maya. And there was some random girl on the street who definately reminded me of Alex Saber. So there you have it. We all have cross-country twins perhaps.
Let´s see, and what else? The weekend is coming up, which is blessed relief from their school, where they actually do WORK. It´s pretty intense, and today the teacher tried to make Kathleen and I do work... only we didn´t understand at all what we were supposed to be doing. However, we must have did it right.
Nothing too much else going on really. Today O´Hara offered to take us to one of the older quarters of the city for shopping, but I really couldn´t take any more of "the mackers", who are nice enough but just so concerned with flirting I want to pull my frizzy hair out.
However, we have executed a plan to destroy las belgas. Okay, not destroy, but definately torment. They are decidedly unfriendly (aka won´t respond to juge and emily´s macking) and probably think we´re all a bunch of imbecile americans. Which, okay, we are. Anyway, Juge and Emily are basically plotting how to make things as socially awkward with them as possible (as if it isn´t already socially awkward because we don´t speak the same language) which is both cruel and a little funny, because they really are sort of mean.
Today I wrote an E-Mail to my lit class (because I am a complete dork) telling them about mullets and spanish woj. yes, that´s right, I uttered the horrid words- SPANISH WOJO. Proof God doesn´t exist, because he wouldn´t make two of her. It´s just not possible. But yes, I was pretty sure only mrs. neville (and the class) could fully appreciate the humour in that situation.
That is all. More to come, I´m sure.
